The Arizona Bao Fest will be the place to be to satisfy your bao cravings on March 24th at Unexpected Venue in downtown Phoenix! From 11am-7pm, enjoy steamed buns, gua bao, BBQ pork buns, sweet buns from bakeries, and creative interpretations from over 10 local businesses.
What is a bao? From Food Republic, a bao or known as a steamed bun or baozi is a «complete meal conveniently packed away in a white, warm, soft bun.» Or what we like to say, an amazing delicious experience.
Unexpected Venue (734 W Polk St, Phoenix, AZ 85007): Central and convenient location easy to get to and right off the I-10. Free street parking at the venue. This is an one of a kind indoor art space with an industrial backyard.
Sunday, March 24th // 11:00 AM — 7:00 PM
Come for lunch, dinner, or both!
Explore all the different varieties of bao from traditional to creative interpretations. Each business will be serving up a variety of Asian and fusion dishes along with their baos. You can expect to see noodles, takoyaki, rice bowls, and skewers to name a few! Vegan and gluten free options will be available as well! There will also be boba and other desserts to go with your bao. Enjoy the art while you eat and drink! Play games and listen to a live performance!
Online: $12 (includes sales tax) + service fee (100% charged by Eventbrite)
At the door: $15 (includes sales tax)
Tickets available in advance, and only at the door while supplies last. Kids 12 and under are FREE!
Please select only ONE ticket type for full admission to the festival. All ticket types are the same price. The time on the ticket indicates the earliest you could arrive to be admitted. We know this is a little different, but we think the staggered attendance will help reduce long lines at the gate and at the local food businesses.
If you plan to arrive for lunch before 12:00PM, please choose either Lunch General Admission (11:00AM) or Lunch General Admission (11:30AM) for the time to be admitted to the festival. If you plan to arrive between 12:00PM to 2:59PM, please select Lunch General Admission (12:00PM).
What if purchased the Lunch General Admission (11:30AM) and arrive at 11:00AM? You will still be admitted, but we respectfully ask that we admit those in front of you who purchased the Lunch General Admission (11:00AM) tickets first.

If you plan to arrive at the start of dinner service, please choose either Dinner General Admission (3:00PM) or Dinner General Admission (3:30PM). Otherwise, select Dinner General Admission (4:00PM) if you plan to enjoy the festival later and arrive anytime you like from 4:00PM and after.

Why are we doing multiple ticket types? To avoid long lines to get into the festival and create a better experience for you. Not everybody comes at the start of the festival and by creating different ticket types, we can better gauge when people will be arriving and alleviate long food lines and parking issues.
Are the ticket prices the same between each time? Yes!
Do I need to get multiple ticket types? No! Just one ticket type will be sufficient for full admission. The time on the ticket is the earliest you could arrive to be admitted.
If I got a Lunch General Admission ticket, do I need to leave when dinner service starts? No! You can stay as long as you like until end of the festival. The time on the ticket is the suggested earliest time you could enter the festival to help reduce long lines at the gate.
What if I got a Dinner General Admission ticket and decide on the day of the event, that I want to come for lunch? You will still be admitted the time you arrive! We just ask please try to keep to your admission time to help with logistics. This is an indoor and outdoor venue. There is a limit to the number of people we can let in.
What do I get with the ticket? The ticket cost is for admission only. All food and drink is sold separately. All of the local businesses will be collecting their own sales. They do not offset the event production costs. Games will be available (pool table, air hockey, board games, and lawn games) and are free to play. Art gallery is indoors.
What is the price range for each bao? The local businesses are setting the prices from $4-$7 each (small to large bao). Some local businesses are doing a package deal such as 3 for $10. We suggest coming with a group of your friends and families to try a little bit from everywhere!
