ARTsplat is intended to be a multidisciplinary art happening for the whole community, with an emphasis on how queer experiences inform the creation of art in all its forms.
ARTsplat will be held on Oct 11, 2018 at and with the tremendous support of Stacy's at Melrose
, and is intended to provide an alternative to traditional celebrations of Gay History Month. The event will provide an evening of entertainment and artistic stimulation that may include, but is not limited to, visual art and photography, poetry and written works, as well as dance or performative pieces. Work should strive to cover uncharted territory, through a diverse array of stories and experiences.
This event is also an opportunity to support a fantastic organization in our community that greatly needs our support. Trans Queer Pueblo
is a local LGBTQ+ organization representing specifically the migrant community and people of color. They work to support and cultivate leadership to generate community power to end systems of oppression and work toward justice for all people.
*** Note, since this event is being held at a venue where alcohol is served, all contributors and guests must be 21 or older to attend.
